Youth Harm Reduction Conference
Youth Harm Reduction Conference: Kaaya wiishakowooshoo
Location: Delta Hotel Saskatoon
Time: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Métis Nation–Saskatchewan invites Métis youth to attend Kaaya wiishakowooshoo a one-day Harm Reduction Conference focused on sexual health, wellness, and community connection.
This gathering is designed to create a safe, respectful space for youth to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversations around topics such as HIV and STBBIs, relationships, consent, mental health, and overall wellbeing. Grounded in a harm reduction approach, the conference supports informed, non-judgmental learning and recognizes the importance of meeting people where they are.
Participants will move through a series of guided sessions led by community experts. Throughout the day, youth will have opportunities to hear lived experiences, take part in facilitated discussions, and explore resources related to sexual health, prevention, testing, and support services. Sessions are designed to build knowledge, reduce stigma, and strengthen confidence in accessing care and information.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Travel and accommodation are available for those who require support.
This conference is part of a broader initiative to gather Métis youth perspectives and strengthen future programming, services, and resources related to sexual health and wellness.
Participants are also encouraged to complete the accompanying survey which will help ensure youth voices directly inform future initiatives and supports.
