Roblox Game Development and Design Training

Build skills. Learn language. Create culture.

Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S), in partnership with Maskwa Games, is launching a new opportunity for Métis youth. We are recruiting a small cohort of MN–S citizens, ages 18 to 29, to take part in a Roblox Game Development and Design Training program. Participants will help create interactive Roblox games inspired by Métis cultural experiences in Saskatchewan.

The first game is based on the Back to Batoche Festival, and is being piloted in Heritage Michif, with plans to expand into additional game experiences in the future, in other Métis languages. Training program participants may be contracted in the future by MN–S for Roblox game development, as available. This work is part of a broader effort to strengthen economic development by preparing Métis youth for careers in digital industries.

Why apply?

Participants will gain practical experience in game development and design while working with industry professionals. The program supports skill building that can lead to future education and employment opportunities in the game development field. It also offers a chance to explore Métis culture and engage with Métis languages in a hands-on way. The project is designed to support Métis youth in developing digital skills while contributing to cultural and language revitalization.

Who should apply:

  • Registered MN–S Métis youth citizens between 18 and 29 years old
  • Have an interest in gaming, design, and technology. No prior experience is required.

Program timeline:

Applications open: April 27, 2026
Application deadline: May 20, 2026
Training begins: early September 2026 (dates to be confirmed)
