Roblox Game Development
Back 2 Batoche Days Roblox
Build skills. Learn language. Create culture.
Métis Nation–Saskatchewan, in partnership with Maskwa Games, is launching a new Back 2 Batoche Days Roblox game, in Heritage Michif! This game is inspired directly by the Back to Batoche Days festival that happens each year at Batoche.
The first Roblox game is based on the Back to Batoche Festival, and is being piloted in Heritage Michif, with plans to expand into additional game experiences in the future, in other Métis languages. The game is designed as a digital twin of Back to Batoche Days – a digital replica of the real-life festival! When you buy a shirt at the festival, you can go online and earn the same shirt in Roblox!
This is the first Roblox digital twin of its kind, creating a truly unique gaming experience.

Métis Roblox Creator Camp
The Roblox Creator Camp is a one-day, hands-on learning experience where Métis youth citizens ages 8–17 will explore the world of game creation through Roblox Studio.

Guided by experienced mentors with Maskwa Games, youth will discover how games are created - from building 3D worlds and designing environments to learning the basics of coding and game mechanics.
No previous game development experience is required. Participants will start with the basics and gain the skills and confidence to continue creating their own Roblox experiences beyond the camp.
