Child Care Subsidy Program

The Métis Nation–Saskatchewan Childcare Subsidy Program offers vital support for Métis families to access affordable childcare. Eligible families with children aged birth to 12 years may see their childcare fees reduced to as low as $10 per day. If your household’s annual gross income is $100,000 or less, you may qualify for a reduction of the $218 fee, possibly lowering your cost to $0.

Eligibility Criteria

• The child must be aged birth to 12 years old. The child will become ineligible the first day of the month following their 13th birthday
• The child must be an MN–S citizen or in the process of acquiring citizenship and must not have applied for First Nation status. Please visit /citizenship/ for citizenship information
• The child must reside within Saskatchewan
• The applicant (parent/guardian) and child must reside within the same household
• The child must be enrolled and attend a licensed, unlicensed, home based, before and after school, or family-provided childcare program
• The applicant must be employed, enrolled in school, or have other circumstances that require childcare
• Childcare fees are higher than $218 per month per child
