October 16, 2023 - Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) is offering a free Energy Advisor Training Program to eligible Métis citizens interested in starting a career as a registered Energy Advisor (EA). The goal of the Energy Advisor Training Program is to increase the number of registered Métis EA’s in Saskatchewan, particularly in under-represented and under-served areas of the province.

What is an Energy Advisor?
Energy Advisors (EA) are experts in home energy efficiency and deliver EnerGuide evaluation and rating services for eligible homes in Canada. EA’s are registered with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and help homeowners and building professionals understand and improve home energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and save money on utility bills.

Classroom Training - November 6–10, 2023
Classroom Training - December 11–15, 2023
Classroom Training - January 22–26, 2024
Probationary Files - 5 days to complete probationary files between February 1, 2024, and March 31, 2024. Dates to be selected by trainees before completion of classroom training.
Trainees must pass two qualification exams:
- The Foundation Level Exam
- The Energy Advisor (House) Exam
Costs
Training is free of charge. MN–S will also cover:
- Exam costs*
- Travel, meals, and hotels*
- Your first blower door kit (upon successful completion of the course and all exams)
*Trainees are responsible for coordinating and paying for their exam and travel-related costs upfront. Trainees will be required to complete an MN–S expense claim form for reimbursement. Reimbursement can take up to 30 days.
